Gardening Mega-Day!

Huge, huge day on Saturday, Saturday, Saturday!!
[In loud TV/Radio announcer voice]

Hopefully... The Weather Channel is showing a 50-60% chance of rain in the area on Saturday (for now). So I am going to be a sad girl if we have to spend the day indoors. Not sure when we'll be able to get it done otherwise... Of course, there are plenty of things besides Project 6 that I can do outside if it is rainy, just nothing that is as pressing as getting the vegetables planted.  We need to get the garden in before mid-June because our growing season is so short.

Take that rainclouds!

In order to get our vegetable garden mostly functional we are going to rent a larger tiller. The cost is not much and we won't have a need for a large tiller after the first steps in the project. Buying a smaller tiller at some point is on 'my list' but not necessary right now.

What we have done:  dirt has been mostly turned by hand/shovel. Large stumps and rocks have been removed.  Jeremy removed a huge rock last weekend and Cole helped me with the "Cole Rock" a few weekends back. We have found lots of small rocks that have since been moved to the campfire ring. In the garden we had long grasses and lots of roots that I'm sure I will be struggling with for years to come. But (most) everything is ready to go!  I will be posting before and after photos if we get to till up the garden on Saturday!

So cross your fingers,
say a little prayer,
or send good vibes so
 the weather cooperates...
just for Saturday!

I totally agree with what you´re saying there, you might as well rent a big tiller to get the garden in order.
But when you are ready buying yourself a small garden tiller would be a good investment because you will be able to keep your garden plot tidy and free of weeds.
Hope it doesn´t rain this Saturday and you can get out there - if you do manage it enjoy yourself.
